A massive congratulations has been passed from the Chairman and the Operations Manager at GrayAreas Ltd to the kitchen staff at Kingsmount Residential Home for maintaining their track record of being awarded 5 out of 5 for Food Hygeine.

Tori Gray, Operations Manager, says that she is immensely proud of Head Cook, Anita and her team for maintaining this accreditation and that this is a reflection of the quality of service that can be found throughout the home thanks to a dedicated and caring team.

GrayAreas Ltd for Kingsmount Residential Home and Mount Olivet Nursing Home has been awarded as one of the Top 20 Recommended Small Care Providers in the UK!

We are absolutely thrilled with this award and could be more proud of our staff for making this a reality.

These reviews are filled in by visitors and relatives of residents residing in the home and allow the reviewer to provide feedback on a range of areas including:

Facilities; Staff; Cleanliness; Activities; Care/Support; Food & Drink; Management; Rooms; Value for Money; Whether resident are Treated with Dignity and the Overall Standard.

It also allows reviewers to confirm whether they would recommend the home and we are very happy to see that every one of a reviewers would.

It is lovely for our staff to receive this positive feedback; they know they do an exceptionally important job however being able to read the feedback for themselves on the carehome.co.uk website is very rewarding. As a thank you to them, we will be hosting a garden party towards the end of July for residents, staff and all family members and visitors. More details to follow!

Kingsmount Residential Home has purchased two tablets and downloaded Dementia-appropriate interactive apps for use by our residents. They appear to have been a hit during our trial run so we look forward to incorporating them in our everyday activities. Here is a picture of one of our residents quite deftly getting to grips with this new technology.

15th December 2016

Christmas festivities are in full swing at Kingsmount Residential Home. We've been snow-flake crafting, pom-pom making, caroling and dancing!

Still to come is the Residents' Christmas party with the always excellent, and internationally-renowned Hot House Four bring their special blend of Americana and swing and The Galmpton Male Voice Choir who perform every year before heading off on their Overseas Tour (to Dartmouth!).

Unfortunately we have had to cancel this event due to staff sickness. We hope to rearrange in the future. Updates to follow!

We begin June with some indoor activities and visits from the Aminmal Man and Music for Health. Quizes, word games, memory cards and indoor floor games complete our monthly activities programme!

1st - 8th June

Giant connect four, crosswords, ball games, dominoes, the Animal Man, a DVD film afternoon and a quiz.

9th - 14th June

Giant snakes and ladders, Music for Health, hoopla, word searches, bingo, a DVD film afternoon and a quiz.

15th - 21st June

Cake baking, memory cards, ball games, hangman, fruity Friday, a DVD film afternoon and a quiz.

22nd - 28th June

Giant connect four, Music for Health, a variety of crosswords, domineos, bingo, a DVD film afternoon and a quiz.

29th - 30th June

Giant snakes and ladders and memory cards.

Our wonderful activities team have lots planned to keep us busy in March! We're hoping for some warmer weather and a little bit of sun shine but in the mean time why not take a look at some of the indoor activities we will be enjoying this month.

Mothering Sunday, traditional sweet tasting, giant connect four, Music for Health, crosswords, skittles, balloon games and a matinee film.

22nd - 28th March

Word games, snakes and ladders, easter arts and crafts, a quiz, hoopla, memory cards and a matinee film.

29th - 31st March

Naughts and crosses, domineos and Music for Health.
