We have 28 single rooms of which 21 have en-suite facilities and 2 double rooms also with en-suites (for those that wish to share). All bedrooms are centrally heated and can be self regulated. All rooms are fitted with a call system, hand washbasin and TV points.

Kingsmount has two light and airy lounges, one with TV/Video, and a large conservatory, newly built that is at the front of the house with pleasant views overlooking the Torbay. We are in the process of adding a further Library and Writing Room. All lounges allow residents the chance to meet and socialise in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. With a choice of spacious dining and lounge area,Kingsmount has all the facilities to make your stay as comfortable and restful as possible. The gardens are available for the use of all; a few residents even look after an area themselves if desired. Room sizes vary from 10 square metres upwards and all comply with the regulations.

Kingsmount is equipped with a passenger lift to all floors. The home is designed so that there is no requirement for stair lifts. Assisted baths and showers, hoists for the less mobile and many other aids facilitate the care of the less able and wheelchair-bound.

We offer divan beds for those able to use a normal bed and provide electrically operated full profiling beds, high-low beds, pumped air mattresses and pressure care cellular mattresses according to medical requirement. Residents may provide their own should they wish and we will advise on suitability. Bed linen is pure egyptian cotton and is externally laundered.

Rooms are provided with a telephone jack where a mobile payphone can be attached for outgoing calls. Many rooms have a separate jack which can be connected to a private BT line, the costs of which are billed separately to the resident by the supplier. In addition, incoming calls can be received on a digital cordless phone system.

We have an in-house laundry

The home is equipped with a call system in all rooms, bathrooms and public rooms which can only be turned off at the source of the call. There is regularly inspected fire alarm, escape and appliances and staff receive regular fire prevention and evacuation training and drills.
